On Thursday, October 27 at 2:00 PM (CEST), German chemical company Worlée will be hosting a webinar together with Svenska Aerogel. During the webinar, the two companies will present their collaboration WorléeShield. WorléeShield is a sprayable thermal insulating coating which can – due to its low thermal conductivity – save energy and costs. In addition, the technology can protect personnel against contact burns and thus contribute to increased safety at workplaces in the process industry.

The thermal insulating coating WorléeShield is based on a combination of Svenska Aerogel’s hydrophobic Quartzene® material and Worlées binders and additives. Worlée has created a guide formulation that describes how the new technology can be put together. WorléeShield offers easy application by spraying, rolling or by knife. The efficacy of the coating increases with the number of layers applied, but even a thin layer provides a good insulating effect.

WorléeShield as thermal insulation has several advantages. For example, the coating can provide personnel protection against hot or cold surfaces and thus prevent contact burns in workplaces. Due to the possibility of a high dry film thickness per layer, 1–2 layers applied is normally enough to create a touch-proof surface.

The new technology is ideal for coating pipes, valves, and tanks, and it can offer good fire protection. By decreasing heat losses, the coating saves energy and this way also reduces energy costs. The process industry is the main segment for the technology, but it can also be used in other applications where a thin insulation is needed.

During the upcoming webinar, Worlée and Svenska Aerogel will give a more in-depth presentation of WorléeShield. Svenska Aerogel will be represented by Chy-Ming Tang, Sales Manager in the DACH region. This is what Chy-Ming says about the benefits of the new technology:

– WorléeShield reduces energy requirement and increases safety. Moreover, when WorléeShield is applied on a steel substrate, corrosion under insulation (CUI) is minimized, and the integrity of the steel structure is maintained.

The webinar called “How the WorléeShield technology can save energy costs by reducing heat transfer” will take place on Thursday, October 27 between 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (CEST). Registration is required to attend the webinar. Click here to register.
