Svenska Aerogel continues to build its global presence. During a two-week period in May, two large trade fairs within different industries – the Eastern Coatings Show and the Battery Show Europe – took place in two different parts of the world. The geographical distance didn’t stop Svenska Aerogel from participating in both events; the company visited both the US and Germany to share its innovative solutions with the coatings industry as well as the battery industry.

Eastern Coatings Show, May 16–18
The first show to take place was the Eastern Coatings Show between May 16–18 in Atlantic City, NJ, United States. This event is the largest regional coatings show in America. It offers visitors a profound understanding of coatings and highlights the development of coatings performance and functionality. The event also provides an excellent opportunity for industry colleagues to network and exchange ideas with each other.
It was a natural step for Svenska Aerogel to attend the Eastern Coatings Show, as interest in Svenska Aerogel’s material Quartzene is high within the building & construction segment. This interest was confirmed earlier this year by the many visitors at the European Coatings Show. Svenska Aerogel attended the Eastern Coatings Show together with its American distributor Van Horn, Metz & Co.
The Battery Show Europe, May 23–25
Shortly after the coatings show was over, it was time for the Battery Show Europe between May 23–25 in Stuttgart, Germany. The Battery Show is a well-visited meeting place for the advanced battery and H/EV technology community. At the 2023 show, over 770 suppliers exhibited in four halls.
Much like how Quartzene increases fire resistance performance in coatings, the material adds fire protection and high thermal insulation to battery protection solutions used to prevent thermal runaway in electric vehicles. Being visitors at the Battery Show, Svenska Aerogel’s representatives were able to approach both existing and new business contacts and discuss the ongoing development of safer batteries using the Quartzene technology.
