Svenska Aerogel significantly increases capacity in the new production line, which will be put into use in the summer of 2019. MPP 2019 is the first of 4 planned manufacturing modules for scaling up capacity. Fully developed, the unique facility in Gävle will be able to produce 1000 tons / year.

The Master Pilot Plant (MPP 2019) is the first of 4 modules in the industrial production of Quartzene. Initially, the new line will be manned in 3 shifts with an annual volume capacity of 225 tons. Remaining modules will then be developed in accordance with customer needs to reach a fully optimized process for 1000 tons per year. Module design creates the conditions for better balancing investments, cashflow and continued technology development.

– We will also be able to optimize our process when we are producing larger volumes of Quartzene. This means that we can reduce lead times and improve delivery reliability towards our customers. Nestor Wallberg. Production Manager Svenska Aerogel

The modular layout of the production line creates flexibility and makes it possible to increase efficiency by building up facilities in close proximity to customers. It is fully in line with Svenska Aerogel’s ambitions to work for sustainable development throughout the manufacturing chain, for example by reducing transport costs.

– We are so flexible that we can cover the market’s needs by tailoring the production modules and placing them on customer plants in the future. Tor Einar Norbakk, CEO Svenska Aerogel
